Square footage: 730,000 sq. ft

The much-awaited world’s biggest IKEA store has finally opened its doors in the Philippines. Located in Pasay City, this Swedish furniture maker’s store boasts an area of 730,000 square feet or an equivalent of 150 basketball courts.

We were at the forefront of every safety and compliance requirement of the premise.

To ensure a safe and pleasant shopping experience for all customers, we were tapped by SM Prime Holdings, Inc. to do the Commissioning Management of this biggest blue box store in the world to ensure life safety, compliance, and sustainability.

For its MEP compliance requirement, we took the lead in the execution of Testing and Commissioning Management scopes and procedures including the commissioning of central Chilled Water System, life safety systems, power failure essential mode and any systems integration ensuring that building services are fully optimized and designed in full compliance to standard requirements of both SM Prime Holdings and IKEA.

According to Jefferson Suarez, LEED AP, CxA, MCSA, Contracts Manager of Sygna Philippines “We take the long term view and considered all aspects of the building’s operation to meet the demands of tomorrow. This approach results in the project that is built for longevity, cost savings, adaptability, and safety for its owners, developers, and customers.”
